Northern Group acquires Manchester’s 37,000 sq ft 19 Spring Gardens
For an undisclosed fee, the firm has expanded its commercial offering into the city centre.
While Northern Group has not disclosed the vendor, according to the Land Registry, BNP Paribas owned the building having purchased it for £13m in 2015.
CBRE acted as the agent for Northern Group in this deal. OBI and Edwards are the retained agents.
Located on the corner of Spring Gardens and Marble Street, 19 Spring Gardens has 37,000 sq ft of office space and 12 basement car parking spaces.
Paul Dobbs, chief operating officer at Northern Group said: “Spring Gardens is a significant addition to the Northern Group portfolio, aligning with our ethos to retain and operate outstanding spaces to work and live in vibrant parts of the city.
“OBI and Edwards have been appointed as the retained agents for 19 Spring Gardens and we have full faith in their positioning to ensure a seamless leasing process for interested tenants.
“As our newest acquisition shows, we are continuing to strengthen our presence in our home city with a reputable and valued commitment and vision to providing outstanding practical spaces, designed and managed to the highest standards, to meet our client’s needs, 19 Spring Gardens will be no exception.”
The building will be refurbished in line with Northern Group’s design and functionality standards for its commercial offerings.
Office space available will range from 1,000 sq ft to whole floors of 5,200 sq ft, with flexible options for businesses of various sizes according to Northern Group.
