With an economy valued at more than £23bn and a population of 1.4m, Lancashire is a county to watch. This event is all about looping you into all you need to know about Preston and Central Lancashire, Blackpool and Fylde Coast, Blackburn, Burnley and East Lancashire and more.
Active players from across the patch will dig into the county’s major developments, destination marketing, planning landscapes, funding availability and the people and policies that are shaping the area.

- KATE INGRAM, BURNLEY COUNCIL | Is responsible for planning policy, economic development and regeneration. Some of her recent notable projects include the retail and leisure offering Pioneer Place, which broke ground earlier in January, the expansion of UCLan in Burnley and the successful £20m levelling up bid.
- EMILY ARMSTRONG, FI REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT | Currently project lead for FIREM’s new build development portfolio, which includes 5m sq ft of industrial and logistics master planning. Major projects in the pipeline include Botany Bay in Chorley which will see the creation of circa 400k sq ft of employment and logistics space.
- ANGIE RIDGWELL, LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL | With an investment pipeline of £15bn across Lancashire, the county council supports a vast range of projects including major transport and digital infrastructure, 4 enterprise Zones, the Preston, South Ribble and Lancashire City Deal, Lancashire Central, the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, and the recently announced National Cyber Force headquarters.
- KAREN HIRST, MAPLE GROVE DEVELOPMENTS | Is currently underway with schemes including the £22m leisure development, Pioneer Place at Burnley, £40m leisure development Animate, Preston and working in partnership with Blackburn and Darwen Council for part of their £25m masterplan for Blackburn Town Centre.
- ALBAN CASSIDY, CASSIDY + ASHTON | Has been involved in several recent award-winning projects including the Preston Bus Station refurbishment which recently won the 2021 World Monuments Fund/Knoll Modernism Prize. He is currently working on a number of major urban extensions including sites in Lancashire.
- DAVID COX, DAVID COX ARCHITECTS | Comes from an international background and now leads a team of architects in Preston, working on a range of major schemes in Lancashire and across the North of England.
- ALAN CAVILL, BLACKPOOL COUNCIL | Has over 30 years of experience working on various aspects and projects in tourism and regeneration in the North West. Alan carries the responsibility for the council-owned leisure assets which include Blackpool Tower and the Winter Gardens Complex.
- JOHN CHESWORTH, PRESTON PARTNERSHIP & PRESTON TOWNS FUND BOARD | Helped form the Preston Partnership and has a passion to see Preston thrive as part of a vibrant Lancashire economy. He Is focussing on the Harris Quarter Towns Fund Investment Programme.
- DEBBIE FRANCIS, LANCASHIRE ENTERPRISE PARTNERSHIP | Was appointed as chair of the LEP last year. Debbie is responsible for securing capital funding to invest in various projects across Lancashire. The Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre North West at the Samlesbury Aerospace Enterprise Zone, is among the projects the LEP is supporting.
- LUCY WALLWORK, LUC | Has a track record of working for local authorities on a variety of green infrastructure strategies, as well as various other strategic planning work, including green belt assessments.
