About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, driven and enthusiastic professional to lead Trafford’s drive to accelerate economic growth and to support its local community; residents, businesses and stakeholders alike, by securing external resources for place-based projects, regeneration schemes and improvements to Trafford’s town centres.

As the principal inclusive economy and communities officer (funding and development), you will be responsible for leading the team to maximise external funding opportunities to benefit the residents and businesses of Trafford.

You will be at the forefront of placemaking and master planning in key growth locations across the borough, taking a holistic view of long term economic regeneration initiatives and engaging partners at a Greater Manchester and local authority level to deliver on this agenda.

About you

You will have a degree or equivalent qualification and have 3-4 years experience in a related field. You will have a proven track record of sourcing, bidding, securing and monitoring of external funding to achieve key outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior professional looking to take the next step in their career or move to a dynamic and fast-paced local authority.

You will have experience of leading and managing staff to drive performance and results. You will possess excellent written and communication skills as you will be interacting with businesses, residents, consultants, partner agencies, other council officers and elected members.

The funding and development function sits within the inclusive economy and communities team which is part of the growth, communities and housing service based at the Town Hall in Stretford, and you will report to the inclusive cconomy and communities manager. A flexible hours and working policy is in place and some unsociable hours working is required on occasions.

Additional Information

You will have flexibility in terms of hybrid working at home and in the office.

You will be required to drive in this role.
