Kingswood expects approval for next phase of 400-home Green Hills
The application is for 149 houses in Blackburn, part of a wider 400-plus housing scheme.
Kingswood Homes’ proposal has been recommended for approval by Blackburn with Darwen Council, due to be decided on Thursday.
Plans for the 14.6-acre site to the southeast of Feniscowles detail 112 affordable homes (53 rental, 59 shared ownership) and 37 open market homes.
There would be 23 two-bed houses, 69 three-beds, and 57 four-bed homes, in what is considered to be the development of phases eight and nine of the project.
Six of the two-bed homes would be bungalows.
Together Housing, a housing association, would oversee the management of the properties.
When complete, the wider Green Hills development will create more than 400 homes.
The application seeks full planning consent for 72 additional houses, as well as the re-planning of 77 homes already with permission.
Each property would not exceed 2.5 storeys, and the intention is that the scheme would be tenure blind to “maintain the success of Green Hills as a high-quality residential scheme with no visual difference between the tenures”, according to the planning statement.
Approval would be subject to a section 106 agreement, which stipulates that Kingswood Homes must provide additional primary school places in Blackburn.
The project team includes DEP Landscape Architecture, Hancock & Jay Associates, SLR, E3P, and PDP Associates.
