Firem’s 105,000 sq ft Wrexham project takes shape
Most of FI Real Estate Management’s 38-acre scheme on Wrexham Industrial Estate is on track to complete in early 2022.
Lead contractor ECE is at work constructing three of the five Firem sites on the estate. The first to complete will be a 25,000 sq ft unit off Clywedog Road North, which is on track to finish this year. Construction on the unit began in July. A steel frame is now in place on that site and yard space surfacing is starting in November.
The next site, comprising a 45,000 sq ft unit off Clywedog Road East, is slated for a January 2022 completion. The steel frame for that building is to go up this month.
The final site of the three is located off Clywedog Road North. It is meant to have 11 units which range from 800 sq ft to 6,000 sq ft. Firem said the steel frame for these projects would go up in November. The developer is eyeing a February 2022 completion date.
The two remaining sites are in the planning stages. Outline planning permission has been granted for a 97,000 sq ft business-to-business development on Clywedog Road South. A detailed planning application is being written.
A planning application has yet to be submitted for the fifth project, which will create 120,000 sq ft of space off Bridge Road.
Wrexham Industrial Estate is home to more than 340 businesses, including Net World Sports, and stretches out across more than 1,350 acres.
