Salford approves Peel’s Halo West

A former waste recycling centre next to Junction 11 of the M60 will be turned into a 108,500 sq ft multi-let industrial park by Peel Waters.

Salford City Council approved the plans on Thursday for the development off Liverpool Road in Eccles. Peel aims to tap into pent-up demand for modern commercial premises in the area, which has a strong industrial market.

Peter Linstead, development director of logistics at Peel Waters said: “The scalability of the development and excellent location will attract a wide range of occupiers which will create new jobs and promote economic growth for the local area.”

There will be eight units ranging from 4,338 sq ft to 39,460 sq ft, designed to be BREEAM ‘excellent.’ Peel has owned the six-acre site since 2012.

The project team includes AEW Architects; Langton Development Services as QS; WSP on planning; ecologist E3P; TTHC for highways; SGi was the structural, civil and drainage engineer; M&E engineer Ameon; and BREEAM advice was by RPS.
