One St Peter’s Square completes
The 280,000 sq ft speculative office scheme between Argent and Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund has reached practical completion on schedule.
The building is now under the management of GVA and Carillion Facilities Management. KPMG, which has taken the top three and a half floors of the building totaling 73,000 sq ft, will continue the fit-out with a scheduled completion date in December.
Fumo, part of the San Carlo Restaurant Group, has taken 5,000 sq ft over the ground and mezzanine level and is on site with the restaurant fit-out, which includes an architectural staircase linking the two floors.
Carillion was the contractor on the scheme, with a project value of £60m.
James Heather, partner of Argent, said: "This is a great result to have achieved this significant milestone and is testament to the huge efforts made by the team over the past three years.
"With the radical transformation of the Square well underway, One St Peter's Square is the only completed Grade A new office development in Manchester city centre and ready for immediate occupation."
The scheme has been designed by Glenn Howells Architects on the site of the former Elisabeth House building in St Peter's Square.
GVA and Savills are the agents on the scheme.
