Asda completes Kingsway shed

The 493,000 sq ft chilled and frozen distribution centre at The Kingsway Business Park, Rochdale, is claimed to be the largest facility of its type in the world.

The site also includes a 128,000 sq ft service centre, which will serve Asda stores throughout the North West from Thursday.

Julien Kenny-Levick, director of logistics and industrial at the Manchester office advised the supermarket operator on the acquisition of the 44-acre site.

He said: "This facility has a highly productive design with excellent environmental credentials.

"This is a hugely significant regional property development and key strategic distribution facility for Asda."

Asda now has 25 distribution centres nationwide.

Kingsway Business Park was developed by Wilson Bowden Developments.
