Turner & Townsend takes on 10 graduates
The global project manager and construction consultancy has added to its nuclear and infrastructure departments in Salford and Sellafield.
The company's overall graduate intake was 54 across 14 offices in the UK this year. The large recruitment drive reflected a 20% growth in net revenue for the year to 30 April 2012.
Applicants were interviewed by company directors and senior consultants before giving presentations on their chosen sector. The successful candidates are now undertaking an intensive four-week 'boot camp' training course in the company's Salford Quays office.
Turner & Townsend employs more than 70 staff on site at the nuclear plant in Cumbria, in addition to 60 full-time staff in Salford Quays.
Mike Pigott, head of nuclear and North West regional director, said: "We have been delighted with the talented graduates we have been able to recruit. They represent the future for Turner & Townsend and the current process allows us to spot talent at an early stage."
David Williams, head of the Manchester office, said: "The past year has been an exceptional one for Turner & Townsend and we are delighted to have been able to increase our graduate intake as a result of rapid growth."
The company said applications for the 2013 graduate scheme would open in the next few weeks.
