Morris & Spottiswood buys LLED

Warrington fit-out contractor Morris & Spottiswood has acquired Cumbrian maintenance specialist LLED Construction for an undisclosed sum.

The £88m turnover fit-out firm has completed a buyout of the Carlisle business, which will continue to be led by founder Dee Addison as it is absorbed into Morris & Spottiswood’s UK-wide maintenance division. LLED employs 27 people and turned over £1.35m in the year to 31 May 2016.

Jon Dunwell, group managing director of Morris & Spottiswood, said: “We have worked with LLED Construction for more than 15 years – this gives us confidence in the acquisition as we have built a strong relationship centred around trust. LLED have been involved in many of our projects.”

“Dee has been the driving force behind LLED Construction’s success since day one and his considerable knowledge and experience will be greatly valued within Morris & Spottiswood’s maintenance department.”

LLED’s client roster includes JD Wetherspoon, Heineken, Spar and Edinburgh Woollen Mill. All jobs will remain in place.

Figures recently in May by Morris & Spottiswood show that turnover increased from £74m to £88m in the year to 31 December 2015. The business also operates from Leeds, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

This move will enable us to make greater inroads into the maintenance market across northern England.”
