X1 tops out at The Plaza
Contractor Forrest has reached full height at X1 The Plaza, the £34m residential development being built on Advent Way in Ancoats.
A topping out ceremony was held on site with attendees from developer X1, property consultancy Knight Knox, consultant Savills, designer DK-Architects, structural engineer MDA Wirral, in addition to the project team from Forrest.
According to X1, all apartments at The Plaza have sold off-plan. Construction started in September 2016, and the developer is targeting a phased handover between February and April 2018.
Since the scheme was approved in 2015, X1 has made changes to the facade and balconies, as part of the redesign for the 10-storey building.
The Plaza will provide 201 homes, and represents the second phase of X1’s wider Eastbank development, the first phase of which was completed by Forrest last year and houses 111 apartments.
The Plaza is one of a number of X1 projects currently being built by Forrest, which is also on site at the developer’s The Gateway and The Landmark, both in Greater Manchester.
Delay after delay on this development. Terrible developer, blames a 7 month delay on the weather when another development I have purchased in only 2 miles away has had no delays. They keep changing the long stop date with the attitude of take it or leave it. Avoid x1 developments at all costs. I have learnt the hard way!
