Knowsley business park expansion approved
Orbit Investments has been granted consent for a 100,000 sq ft industrial development made up of 15 units, and is set to start on site after Easter.
A weighing station on the six-acre site at Lees Road, at the entrance to Knowsley Business Park, will be demolished to make way for five units totalling 23,000 sq ft and a 44,000 sq ft self-storage unit. Three trade counter units, four retail units, a drive-through café and a food kiosk complete the scheme.
Nexus is planner, and WML Consulting is the structural engineer. The joint agents are CBRE and B8 Real Estate.
Plans were approved unanimously at Knowsley’s planning committee, subject to a condition to include at least 15 EV charging points.
Nearby, Orbit has brought to market a 110,000 sq ft warehouse unit, known as Academy One, which is being offered at a rent of £52,708 a month. Academy Two, an additional 110,000 sq ft unit, is also proposed.
More sheds for Knowsley. More low value jobs created no doubt.

There’s huge market demand for this type of development that we are risk of underserving.
Nothing wrong with jobs in this sector thank you.
