Ball joins Urban Splash
The developer has appointed Greg Ball, a former development manager at London Stock Exchange-listed U+I, as the latest in a string of new hires in recent months.
Ball joined Urban Splash as senior development manager last month, after a year as senior development manager at U+I, part of the consortium building the £1.4bn Mayfield scheme in Manchester.
Prior to working for U+I, Ball was a developer at Muse Developments for five years, after eight years as an associate then director at consultancy JLL. He started his career at Knight Frank, after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in property valuation.
He has worked on some of the region’s most prominent regeneration schemes during his career, including Muse’s Cheadle Royal business park, the Stockport Exchange redevelopment of Stockport bus station, and most recently, on U+I’s Mayfield.
At Urban Splash – the developer set up by founding chairman Tom Bloxham – Ball is to manage several developments across the company’s North of England portfolio, kicking off with the planned regeneration of the grade two-listed Park Hill in Sheffield.
Urban Splash has hired 27 new members of staff since January across a range of departments in the North West and beyond.
Bloxham said: “It’s great to have Greg on board as our latest recruit this year. He brings with him great talent and experience from his previous work at Muse and U+I.
“Its positive that even in these challenging times, Urban Splash remains committed to growth and continues to create more jobs.”
Ball added: “I’m lucky to have enjoyed a varied property career which has allowed me to deliver some very exciting and notable developments.”
