MIPIM: Airport City announces China roadshow
Airport City Manchester, which has Beijing Construction Engineering Group as an equity partner, has announced plans for an international roadshow across three cities in mainland China in June.
The decision follows today's planned visit of BCEG's managing director to Manchester Airport to endorse the signing of the joint venture partnership.
The roadshow will visit Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen from 9 to 13 June 2014. At each city there will be a range of events appealing to occupiers, investors, manufacturers and property agents, to promote the £800m development at Manchester Airport.
BCEG was announced as a 20% partner in Airport City Manchester in October 2013 by Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne during a visit to Beijing Airport.
The other joint venture partners are Carillion, also with 20% equity, and Greater Manchester Pension Fund with 10% equity. Manchester Airports Group has the remaining 50% share. Argent is the development manager on the scheme.
The specific dates of the road show, what it will cover and who will be attending will be announced at Airport City Manchester's stand event at MIPIM at 3.45pm on Wednesday 12 March.

As part of the joint venture for Airport City Manchester, BCEG has established a 25-person office at Manchester Airport.
Outline planning permission for Airport City Manchester was secured at the start of 2013 for 5m sq ft of development, a mix of offices, hotels, advanced manufacturing, logistics and warehousing.
