Seddon restructures to ‘increase agility’
The Bolton-based firm has split its construction business into two distinct entities that will be headed up by Peter Jackson and John Shannon.
Shannon has been appointed as managing director of Seddon Property Services, incorporating Seddon Painting and Maintenance, which last year turned over £72m.
Seddon Housing Partnerships, which last year reported revenue in excess of £80m, will now be consolidated with engineering services, forming Seddon Housing Partnerships and Seddon MEP/Renewable Energy.
Peter Jackson, who has been managing director of Seddon Construction for almost six years, will head up this division.

Both companies will operate as part of Seddon Construction under Seddon Group, and could become separate limited companies in the future, according to Seddon chief executive Jonathan Seddon.
“We are constantly evolving at Seddon and following our 125 years celebration, we’ve decided to separate the construction business into two distinct entities,” Seddon said.
“This plan has been underway for the last 12 months, with the purpose of maximising our business assets, driving focus and increasing agility within our markets.”
He added: “While the two entities will operate towards different objectives, both will continue to prioritise our customer’s needs, whom we are certain will see the benefits of changes. We feel that this is a positive step for the group.”
Seddon’s current projects include several affordable housing schemes for Salford City Council and the redevelopment of Sale Magistrate’s Court in Trafford.
