Lancaster Travis Perkins site changes hands

WUKPG has acquired the three-acre former Keyline site off New Quay Road for around £1.5m.

The Lancaster acquisition is the latest in a series of buys for WUKPG. The company targets ageing industrial assets and redevelops them into modern estates.

Other projects in the company’s pipeline include the redevelopment of Vauxhall Industrial Estate on Greg Road in Reddish into 200,000 sq ft of modern employment accommodation.

In Lancaster, WUKPG plans to let the site as open storage in the short term and has appointed C4 Architects to draw up plans for its redevelopment.

Future plans for the site are for 80,000 sq ft of industrial space, spread across units ranging from 3,000 sq ft to 5,000 sq ft.

Oliver Lipson, managing director at WUKPG, said: “WUKPG continues to acquire brownfield sites and underperforming industrial estates across the North West, capitalising on an opportunistic market, to develop new build, high-specification industrial units to meet occupiers’ increasingly prioritised sustainability and ESG credentials.”

The company is planning to deliver around 500,000 sq ft of refurbished space this year.

Pinkus & Co acted for the seller. Eckersleys acted for WUKPG.
