Redrow secures consent for 318 Halewood homes

Knowsley Council has approved the housebuilder’s plans to deliver a mix of apartments and houses on the 27-acre plot bounded by Lower Road, Finch Lane, and Baileys Lane under delegated powers.

Redrow Homes will start on site as soon as possible building 318 homes in Halewood, including 57 one-bedroom apartments and 44 two-, 44 three-, and 173 four-bedroom houses.

Known as The Finches, the scheme will provide a total of 131 affordable properties available for affordable rent and shared ownership.

Lichfields is the planning consultant for the scheme. Also on the project team is landscape architect Trevor Bridge Associates, engineering consultant Banners Gate, and transport consultant Eddisons.

Imogen Zulver, senior planner at Lichfields, said: “We are working with property developers and local planning authorities to ensure schemes like this one are both viable and a welcome addition to local areas, contributing towards providing high quality homes for local people.

“The Finches is set to be a terrific development, creating a sustainable residential neighbourhood with good access to local amenities and services.”

Plans form part of a wider 200-acre site. Redrow acquired the land after receiving outline permission to deliver up to 386 homes on the land in May 2021 as part of a hybrid application, which also saw full planning permission granted for 344 properties.

Hybrid plans for the wider site can be found by searching for application number 19/00521/HYB.
