Ask’s 100 Embankment completes
Work on the developer’s 166,000 sq ft office scheme, delivered in partnership with Salford City Council and London-based investment management firm Tristan Capital Partners, has completed and talks with potential tenants are ongoing.
The building, located on Cathedral Approach on the Salford bank of the River Irwell, is the second phase of Ask Real Estate’s Embankment development.
The neighbouring 165,000 sq ft 101 Embankment was completed by Carillion in 2016. Insurance firm Swinton occupies 60,000 sq ft at 101 Embankment, leaving 106,000 sq ft vacant.
Bam Construction replaced Carillion as the main contractor on the nine-storey 100 Embankment after Carillion fell into administration in 2018.
Ask’s managing director John Hughes said: “There are few Grade A office buildings of this size and quality available in such a prime location within the city centre, and the level of interest we’ve seen from prospective occupiers is testament to that.”
Salford Mayor Paul Dennett added: “The completion of 100 Embankment is a significant moment for this city.
“Salford people have already benefited though employment opportunities during the construction phase, and this office space will generate investment that local people will benefit from for many years to come.”
CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield are the joint agents on 100 Embankment.
