Bean Coffee Roasters upsizes at Liverpool One
The independent coffee company is more than doubling its space at the shopping complex as it prepares to open a 4,360 sq ft café in May.
The move marks the second upsize for Liverpool-based Bean Coffee Roasters, which first joined Liverpool One as a pop-up in 2021. A year later, Bean opened a 1,800 sq ft store off Manesty’s Lane.
Bean’s newest location will sit off College Lane and span two floors. When it opens, there will be capacity for 150 customers, who will be able to enjoy the brand’s single-origin coffee.
The space will feature two specific zones, one for relaxed dining and the other for coworking.
There will also be a ‘brew bar’, where customers can chat with a specialty barista about coffee origins, the various ways of brewing coffee, and recipe ideas. The barista will, of course, be able to brew coffee at the bar using a variety of methods.
When not sipping coffee, customers will be able to munch on sandwiches that will be made on the premises. Those preferring a chillier beverage will be able to enjoy ice-based drink options.
Metis and CBRE acted for Liverpool One on the deal, while Bean represented itself.
Rob Deacon, senior asset manager at Liverpool One-owner Grosvenor, praised the Bean brand.
“It’s been a pleasure for Liverpool ONE to play a role in the local success story that is Bean and to have had the opportunity to not only support their growth operationally, but also their impact environmentally,” Deacon said.
“The brand’s continued recommitment to the destination is reflective of the supportive environment we strive to cultivate, and we are excited to see the brand continue to go from strength to strength in its new College Lane location.”
Jon Whyte, cofounder of Bean, said that the time the brand has spent at Liverpool One has played a role in helping it grow and improve.
“Over the last two years, Bean has been able to flourish at Liverpool ONE, consistently growing and developing our concept,” Whyte said.
“With the support of Liverpool ONE, we have been able to learn so much from our two previous locations, enabling us to deliver an even bigger and better experience for our customers,” he continued.
“We look forward to being able to open the doors to our brand-new space in May and continue to deliver our locally roasted specialty coffee to the destination’s visitors.”
