Beech bolsters senior management team
Neil Baumber has joined the development company to lead its residential team following an eight-year stint with Peel L&P.
Baumber brings more than 20 years of experience to the role of development director at Beech Holdings, where he will be based at the firm’s Manchester office.
Starting off his career as director of business development at Dane Housing, Baumber then moved to senior roles at Irwell Valley Housing Association and Steel Green.
In his previous role as director of development at Peel L&P, Baumber assisted in the delivery of around 6,000 homes, developed joint venture partnerships, and negotiated land sales.
Baumber’s senior appointment as development director at Beech will be critical in bringing the firm’s build-to-rent pipeline of more than 1,000 units to completion.
Baumber will also work alongside Beech’s growing team of more than 120 employees to drive the firm’s built-to-rent and co-living product offerings.
Stephen Beech, chief executive at Beech, said: “Neil brings a wealth of experience from working across huge residential schemes up and down the country.
“Neil can see how our City Co-Living brand is an exciting prospect for any young person living in an urban area today”, he continued.
“He joins me in believing it can offer a quality solution to what is a housing crisis in cities up and down our country.”
Baumber added: “I’ve always respected family-run businesses and I see and admire those qualities at Beech; the values of the business are clearly embedded in every part of the organisation.
“I hope to support Beech to generate a national platform, not only because the delivered schemes are exceptional, but the ongoing commitment to the communities Beech builds is something that should be replicated up and down the country.”
Founded in 2000, Beech currently has a portfolio value of more than £400m. Developments include Ancoats Gardens and Salisbury House.
Earlier this month, the developer revealed plans to build 360 apartments in Trafford. This marks Beech’s third project in the area, having transformed the 100,000 sq ft Westpoint office building into 317 co-living apartments while also operating Academy Apartments on Warwick Road.
