Bloor advances plans for 170 Wigan homes

The housebuilder is pressing ahead with phase two of its masterplan for Atherton, submitting a reserved matters application for the parcel of land off Crab Tree Lane.

Bloor Homes is seeking the final approval to deliver 170 homes in Wigan, made up of 73 three-bedroom and 97 four-bedroom houses.

Pegasus Group is the scheme’s planning consultant.

Plans form phase two of a masterplan drawn up by Turley Design. The whole project will provide a total of 830 homes across three parcels of land near Atherton town centre.

Landowner Tarleton Estates was granted outline planning permission for the 76-acre scheme in September 2020, before selecting Bloor Homes to deliver the houses in February 2021.

The first phase of the masterplan to deliver 120 homes off Bee Fold Lane was given the green light in February of last year and is already under way.

Another 540 homes to be built off Leigh Road will be the subject of a future reserved matters application.

To find out more about the plans for the 170 homes off Crab Tree Lane, search for application number A/23/95089/RMMAJ on Wigan Council’s planning portal.

The outline application number for the wider masterplan is A/17/84560/OUT.
