Blueoak hands over 60 Old Trafford apartments
Hurst Contracts is on track to complete the housebuilder’s £22m conversion of Alexander House off Talbot Road later this year, following the delivery of the first phase of the project.
Blueoak Estates has handed over 60 apartments to residents, marking the completion of the first phase of the wider scheme designed by Howard & Seddon.
When finished, Alexander House will feature a total of 116 one- and two-bedroom flats across 10 floors.
Residents will have access to a total of 137 car parking spaces.
Chester-based Blueoak acquired the former 63,000 sq ft office building last year from Cadence Real Estate for its residential transformation.
Iain MacLean, managing director of Blueoak Estates, said: “Not only does this building benefit from being in a brilliant location with excellent transport links, but the structure and integrity of the building are excellent and so is perfect for this style of conversion…
“We must appreciate buildings through the decades and restore and enhance where we can”, he continued.
“Conversion from commercial to residential makes perfect sense as the shift towards shopping online and working from home continues to gather momentum and more and more commercial buildings become available.”
Amazing that this building has been refurbished. A much needed perk to Talbot Road, and potentially kickstarting some more development in the area.
