Cautioned leader Leese poised for return
Sir Richard Leese, who temporarily stepped down from his position as leader of Manchester City Council, has put his name forward for re-election.
Leese was arrested last month and cautioned for assaulting his sixteen year old stepdaughter.
He is hoping to lead Manchester's Labour group, which kept hold of the city council in last week's local elections.
Cllr Pat Karney, a friend and colleague of Leese, said: "The outcome will be known at 7pm tomorrow evening as it's got to go to the Labour group."
