Countryside unveils 365-home Oldham scheme
Plans are in for the large housing project that stretches across two plots: four acres off Rosary Road and nearly 18 acres at Hill Farm Close.
Manchester-based Lichfields is the planner for the development, which will include 49 houses for social and affordable rent, and 32 for affordable homeownership. The social housing provision on the scheme would be set up at the Hill Farm Close plot, along with 124 open market houses and 97 private rented sector homes. All 302 units will have a mixture of one and four bedrooms.
The smaller Rosary Road section will have 63 houses offering a mixture of three and four bedrooms. All of those homes are open market.
Both plots of land are cleared brownfield sites. The Rosary Road site was once home to Fitton Hill Secondary Modern School and Marland Fold School. Hill Farm Close was once a housing development and, though the houses have been demolished, still has the old road network.
Plans for the Countryside project include 722 car spaces and private rear gardens for each of the houses.
The development team on the scheme includes E3P, CBO Transport, Redmore Environmental, ELLUC, and Urban Green.
