Fashion retailer takes 12,000 sq ft at Liverpool ONE
TFG London, the company behind brands Hobbs, Phase Eight, and Whistles as well as homeware retailer Inside Story, will open a flagship store at the Merseyside shopping destination.
The 12,000 sq ft store off South John Street in Liverpool will showcase goods from all four brands, including specialist bridal collections, petite sizes, and a luxury style suite.
TFG’s Merseyside home at Liverpool ONE is just one floor of the former Footlocker space. It marks the first time in five years that TFG has had a presence in the city centre.
Metis and CBRE represented the Grosvenor-owned Liverpool ONE on the deal, with Braiser Freeth acting for TFG.
Caraline Money, global retail director of TFG said the company as “thrilled” to be returning to Liverpool.
“Our new store strategy is focused on opening bigger and better stores in prominent shopping destinations like Liverpool where we have built a loyal ever-growing customer base,” she said.
“The new store will enable us to showcase our full collection such as petites and bridal, offering our customers the complete head-to-toe outfit suggestions for every occasion in our beautiful, enhanced store environment.”
Rob Deacon, director of asset management at Grosvenor, added: “TFG London is another step in South John Street’s evolution, reflecting our strategy of securing new brands and upsizing existing retailers to add to its ‘best of the high street’ mix.”
Recent lettings at Liverpool ONE have included the expansion of Zara from 27,200 to 42,000 sq ft – with the revised store set to open in December. Montirex announced its first foray into bricks and mortar, signing for 3,000 sq ft at the shopping complex.
This summer, UNIQLO also lodged plans to take over the 22,000 sq ft former Tessuti unit.
I wonder if anyone at Liverpool Planning stops and thinks if we allow more high-rise and high density within the inner city then this will help sustain our shops.
Grosvenor keeps attracting these top retailers to Liverpool One and given the opportunity might even consider extending their footprint and it would be good to see them take the ex Police Headquarters site with a mix of hotels, retail, and leisure.

The amount of council bashing on completely unrelated posts is getting out of hand. Its starting to seem a bit astroturfed.

Merseyside? such an old fashioned term, should be Greater Liverpool or Liverpool City Region.

This is great news but the Council needs to clean up it’s act in relation to litter control and street cleaning. Also the areas in town away from Liverpool 1 are looking neglected.

Any news on the former Flannels unit on School Lane opposite Waterstones? Thought Cricket were taking it until they were bought by the Fraser Group.

Excellent news for the City of Liverpool.
Knowsley Council (Labour) has joined Sefton, Wallasey and Saint Helens
(all Labour Councils) thus creating many more people to become shop workers in Liverpool One.
Thank you for demolishing the “heart of all your shopping centres. The Duke of Westminster will be discovering extra £50 notes in his wallet…

It’s fine opening these expensive shops but they end up closing down because people just cannot afford these prices Of course it’s nice to have all these shops in Liverpool 1 but look at the state of church street and Lord street it’s a disgrace so dirty and scruffy and depressing something should be done about it asap

@ Liz, look on the bright side, people are shopping in Liverpool One regardless of the prices, and as regards Church St the former M&S will be a mega Sports Direct and Grosvenor have people lined up for the ex Top Shop which is being reconfigured. Yes it does not look great seeing all the beggars around and the council need a better strategy to deal with that, but let’s not blame Liverpool One for brightening up the city.

Just what Liverpool need, for ladies of that age group, who love the Phase Eight and Hobbs, and prefer to shop and try on in shop, and are not on-line shoppers.
