Firem acquires more land in Wrexham for industrial

The developer has bought 47 acres at Wrexham Industrial Estate, taking its land holdings in the North Wales town to 85 acres. 

FI Real Estate Management most recent acquisition sees it take control of land with planning permission for 400,000 sq ft of industrial units. Firem bought the site from Kingmoor Park Properties. Matthews & Goodman acted on behalf of the vendor on the sale, while Hatrick Property advised Firem.

The developer now has assets and a pipeline of 2.2m sq ft of industrial space in Wrexham. 

As well as the 400,000 sq ft coming forward on the former Kingmoor land, Firem’s pipeline projects at the industrial estate include: 

  • Bridgeway Centre – a planning application being submitted for 120,000 sq ft of space on Bridge Road. 
  • A 25,000 sq ft unit on Clywedog Road North and a 45,000 sq. ft unit on Clywedog Road East. 
  • A 97,000 sq ft unit on Clywedog Road South 

Firem’s presence in Wrexham also includes the 833,000 sq ft warehousing company, F.Lloyd, plus a 21,000 sq ft multi-let, two-acre site housing 13 units that was acquired in February.

“The deal marks yet another step forward in the creation of new-build commercial space by Firem in the town. Development is already moving at pace on our other sites, with three reaching completion in early 2022 and planning underway for the other plots.”

Our local economy – supported by the industrial estate – is already growing and thriving, and this will provide a further and significant boost. Wrexham Industrial Estate covers more than 1,300 acres and is home to more than 340 businesses across automotive, aerospace, food, pharmaceuticals and engineering sectors. 

 These businesses collectively employ more than 10,000 people.
