ForHousing’s £15m Stockbridge Village scheme completes
Jackson Gardens offers 90 homes, a spa and an on-site bistro to those in need of extra care.
The £15.1m development sits on a 4.85-acre site and is broken down into 64 apartments and 26 bungalows. There are also communal facilities, including a laundry, lounges and landscaped gardens. The homes themselves are offered in one- and two-bedroom options.
Single bedroom bungalows are 560 sq ft, while their apartment counterpart is 539 sq ft. Two-bedroom bungalows are 668 sq ft. The apartment equivalent is 646 sq ft.
The extra care homes are not just for the elderly, with seven bungalows being reserved for younger tenants who have lifelong disabilities. All residents of Jackson Gardens will have access to 24-hour support to aid them in living independently. ForHousing and Knowsley Council are working together to allocate the homes.
“We’re committed to improving lives and wellbeing by providing quality, affordable homes for people in places where they’re proud to live,” said Nigel Sedman, group director of homes at ForHousing.
Jackson Gardens is not the only ForHousing development in the works in the Stockbridge Village area. The group submitted plans to build seven bungalows at Roughsedge House, which sits next to Jackson Gardens.
Jennings Design Associates were the architects on the Jackson Gardens project, with Sutcliffe as the engineers. Savills acted as the employer’s agent. S.I. Sealy was the M&E consultant. Bridgestone Construction handled the build.
