GALLERY | Invesco’s Copper House completes
Main contractor Graham Construction has finished building the 383-apartment rental scheme on Liverpool’s The Strand, a £57m contract.
The Copper House was developed by Asset manager Invesco Real Estate in partnership with Patten Properties and Panacea Property Development. The build-to-rent scheme overlooks Liverpool’s waterfront and features a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments as well as communal spaces, a private gym and a 1,000 sq ft commercial unit on the ground floor.

Designed by Leach Rhodes Walker Architects, the development is framed around two concrete tower structures, with off-site podded bathrooms, and a system façade designed to withstand inclement riverside weather conditions.
The scheme also features a rooftop garden space with seating, fire pits and fire tables, an outdoor covered kitchen, and a multi-use central space suitable for events or exercise. The area is enclosed by a two-metre-high glass balustrade and offers views across Canning Dock and the River Mersey.
Completion of the Copper House takes Invesco’s UK real estate portfolio to 16 assets, including 3,776 units delivered through its build-to-rent programme.

UK build-to-rent continues to “grow in size and scope and offers an attractive risk-adjusted return profile for investors” despite the turmoil of the past 12 months, German added.
And Neil Patten, joint managing director of Manchester-based Panacea, said: “This has been a long, challenging scheme, but the commitment to get every detail right has paid off considerably. Liverpool now has a sought-after residential development that encapsulates the optimism and ambition of the city.”
Peter Reavey, Graham’s construction director, said The Copper House “provides a stunning addition to this iconic part of Liverpool city centre.
“[It’s] a stand-out development that is already attracting significant demand. The quality of both the design and the build sets it apart, offering future residents a modern living environment with a community feel.”
Invesco, Patten and Panacea have not disclosed the investment value of the project.

Lovely scheme this, and pleasing to look at, just proves that with a good developer on board projects in Liverpool don`t stall, only negative is that it should have been taller but the council wanted the height reduced.
