Hawksmoor coming to Liverpool

The highly-regarded steak restaurant has chosen the city’s grade two-listed India Buildings as the location for its twelfth outlet.

Hawksmoor’s Liverpool restaurant, which will open later this year on the corner of Brunswick Street and Fenwick Street, follows the recent launch of the company’s New York steakhouse. Hawksmoor also has eight restaurants in London, one in Edinburgh and one in Manchester.

“We‘ve spent lots of time in Liverpool over the years, and it’s one of the most exciting and dynamic cities in the country,” said Hawksmoor co-founder Will Beckett.

“We’ve found a beautiful, listed building in such a great location. It’s an amazing site, we’re really excited to do it justice by building something really special.”

A spokesperson for Legal & General, which owns The India Buildings, said: “L&G is really pleased to welcome Hawksmoor to this truly outstanding building and is excited to see the further transformation of India Buildings.”

The India Buildings was recently converted into a 270,000 sq ft office for HMRC. The building will eventually house 4,500 staff.

Good location near underground rail station entrance , and below the now occupied India Building ,should thrive there.

Much better location than the Manchester one which is in a very rough part of town on the weekend

I thought the World had moved on from steak houses? So much other variety of food to choose from now.
