HF on the move to MediaCity

The firm, a legal adviser to the insurance and commercial sectors, has signed for 16,040 sq ft at the Orange Tower in a move from its Talbot Road base in Old Trafford.

HF, the brand name of Horwich Farrelly, said that 500 employees will be based out of the 11th floor at Orange, to support growth plans within the tech, digital and creative sectors.

Other occupiers include Kellogg’s, Ericsson and ITV.

Colliers represented HF. Canning O’Neil, CBRE and OBI acted on behalf of Peel Media. As of last year, MediaCity is a joint venture between Peel L&P and Landsec.

Ronan McCann, chief executive and managing partner at HF, said: “This is such an exciting step for our operations and people in Manchester. The flexible and inviting office space will give our teams a fantastic working environment in an easily accessible and desirable place, with amazing views.

“Our team in Manchester has been growing from strength to strength and we have plans to further scale the business over the coming months and years. Our new office space gives us the ideal base to support our growth and our flexible, hybrid working model.”

Simon Lovegrove, senior asset manager for MediaCity, added: “We’re delighted HF has earmarked MediaCity as the place to support its future growth plans after recognising how MediaCity attracts talent and business opportunity.

“We’re now seeing a growing number of professional service organisations wanting to join our inspiring community of creatives and innovators as they see the value of the breadth of offering here for employees to benefit from.”

HF’s relocation announcement follows last week’s news that consent has been granted for a £140m office building at MediaCity, which will comprise 312,000 sq ft including 27,000 sq ft of co-working space.
