Hill Dickinson hires DWF construction partner
Law firm Hill Dickinson has expanded its Manchester construction team with the appointment of Andrew Davies from rival DWF.
Davies joins Hill Dickinson as a partner specialising in contentious and non-contentious construction and will be working on a range of projects from drafting and negotiating bespoke building and engineering contracts, appointments, bonds and warranties, to running contract and professional negligence claims associated with construction and engineering projects.
His appointment reunited him with Howard Cornes, with whom he previously worked for several years, and he will also work alongside past rivals, including David Chinn, Hill Dickinson's head of construction.
Chinn said: "We are always looking for the right people who have a thorough understanding of the nature of the work we do, ideas on how to take our strategy forward and expertise upon which we can build. Andrew has all those qualities, many of which I first saw when we acted for opposing clients, and I welcome him to the team."
Davies said: "Hill Dickinson is committed to the growth of the construction team so when I had the chance to join the firm it was an easy decision to make. It's an exciting time to be joining and I look forward to working with past and future clients with the support of this team."
Hill Dickinson LLP has offices in Liverpool, Manchester, London and Chester and has over 150 partners and a complement of more than 1,000 staff. The firm announced fee income of £73.1m for the financial year 2007/2008, up 6.9% on the previous year.
