Hill Dickinson hires four

The law firm has made four appointments to its Liverpool-based construction and engineering team, with all four joining from Systech Solicitors, the legal affairs arm of the eponymous property services group.

The lawyers who have joined the firm include Brian Quinn, a founding partner at Systech, who becomes legal director, and Nick Connor, previously partner at Systech and now a consultant with Hill Dickinson. Ron Farrell also joins as a consultant, while Phil Gazzola, a dual-qualified solicitor and chartered quantity surveyor, joins as senior associate.

The new hires are dual-qualified lawyers, i.e. quantity surveyors or engineers and practising solicitors.  This focus will help the firm understand complex and often technical construction matters.

Alan Pugh, partner and head of construction and engineering at Hill Dickinson, said: “I am delighted to welcome Brian, Nick, Ron and Phil to our team in Liverpool as we expand further and take on new clients. They bring a wealth of experience and contacts in the contractor-led market which is a key focus of our growth strategy.

“Their expertise across both legal and advisory construction matters will be of great value to our clients. We very much look forward to working with them.”

These additions mean that Hill Dickinson’s construction and engineering team now numbers 16 and brings further experience of large infrastructure projects across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia to the firm.

Hill Dickinson is working on major projects across sectors, such as Liverpool’s cruise terminal and the ground expansion of Lancashire County Cricket Club.
