Hope Street sister hotel for Liverpool One

Work will begin this spring on School Lane Hotel at Liverpool ONE, with the Hope Street Hotel group drafted in as part of a joint venture with YPG Developments.

Located in the Russell Building on the corner of School Lane and Peter’s Lane, the hotel is aimed at the premium market, and will include 50 guest bedrooms, a restaurant with open plan kitchen and rooftop bar, a gym, conference room and coffee lounge. Work is scheduled for completion in early 2020.

Dave Brewitt, founder and chief executive of Hope Street Hotel Ltd, said: “These are exciting plans that will deliver a high quality hotel in one of the most popular cities for tourism in the UK.

“In the last ten years, Liverpool’s visitor economy has expanded by 66% and Liverpool ONE is at the heart of that growth. Its reputation for the quality of its offer and the experience it provides for visitors create the perfect setting for School Lane Hotel, a landmark sister destination to Hope Street Hotel.”

Alison Clegg, director of asset management at Grosvenor Europe, added: “We are delighted that Hope Street Hotel has been confirmed as the operator, given their reputation for delivering exemplary service.”

Recent announcements from Liverpool ONE include Ralph Lauren’s imminent opening on Peter’s Lane and Morphe’s summer arrival on Paradise Street.

Good to see a new top quality Hotel in Liverpool One. Bodes well for future developments in Liverpool’s inner core. The main shopping arteries of Church Street and Lord Street would benefit from hotels in the mix, like the new one proposed for the George Henry Lee building. This would take us ‘back’ to the future. Compton House on Church Street was once a hotel.
