Housing conference added to MIPIM agenda
Zeroing in on the residential sector, the international property convention will now have a half-day summit to bring together local authorities, developers, and investors from across the globe to debate the sector’s future.
Titled ‘Housing Matters!’, the mini-summit will be held on 11 March 2024, the day before the standard four-day MIPIM conference begins in Cannes. The event is being done in collaboration between MIPIM and Co-Liv, a group focused on co-living.
While the event may be delivered in partnership with Co-Liv, its focus will go beyond co-living to also discuss student accommodation, build-to-rent, later-living, and single-family housing.
The summit’s agenda will include discussions concerning rising demand for homes, housing inequality, and sustainability. Its focus will be on collaborating to find solutions.

“Every week, more than 1.5 million people move to a city somewhere in the world. Yet most global cities are not keeping up with rising housing demands, which drives up prices and housing inequality in the process,” said Nicolas Kozubeck, director at MIPIM.
“Now is the time to imaginatively explore how we might shape the future of living.
“At MIPIM 2024, the Housing Matters! conference will help the residential sector’s leaders to discuss and uncover affordable and accessible housing solutions, whilst fostering innovation and collaboration,” he continued. “Together, we aim to pave the way for a more equitable and sustainable future for urban living.”
Fabrice Simondi, co-founder of Co-Liv, added: “In a world where the dynamics of housing are increasingly challenged, it becomes paramount to harness creativity and collaborative innovation.
“Our traditional frameworks have been stretched to their limits, necessitating not just new models, but a revolution in design, property ownership and management.”
Simondi also said: “At Co-Liv, we are committed to spearheading initiatives that lead us towards a future where housing is not just a commodity, but a community-centric, sustainable sanctuary for all.”
The event is free with a standard MIPIM ticket. Those who only want to attend Housing Matters can purchase a separate €320 ticket.
While MIPIM does not officially begin until 12 March, Place North will also be hosting an event for those who arrive early for the conference. Place North’s MIPIM Arrival Reception, sponsored by Hearthstone Finance, will begin at 4pm at Tribeca in Canes. The event on 11 March is invite-only, but there are sponsorship opportunities available.
