Housing hire at Seddon
Builder and developer Seddon has strengthened its housing partnerships team with the appointment of a new development manager.
Chris Curtis joins from social housing provider Adactus, where he held a similar role for two years. Curtis will work alongside development manager Ian Ridgway on the company’s land-led schemes across the North West for new and existing social housing clients. He said: “Seddon is unique in many ways, as it looks to work in partnership with social housing providers – bringing the land for development and sharing the risk – even in the planning stages.
“More and more housing associations are looking to develop in this way. Traditionally, housing associations would buy the land, and lead on the design and development with the help of consultants. Schemes led by developers, however, offer a more flexible approach, which is something I hope to promote as part of my new role.”
The appointment follows the announcement of Paul Hulme’s retirement in June after five years with the company.
Jonathan Seddon, managing director of Seddon, said: “It is thanks to the hard work of colleagues like Paul that we continue to grow and prosper in this sector. We wish him the very best in his retirement and look forward to future growth in the region.”
