Identity Consult launches decarbonisation arm
The development and construction consultancy has established IC Zero, a brand committed to helping clients meet the challenges of the climate crisis.
The newly established brand will help private and public sector clients reduce their carbon footprints and achieve net zero, Identity Consult said.
Identity Consult has offices in Salford, Preston, Sunderland and York.
The IC Zero team will encourage clients to invest in the future, guiding them through retrofit and refurbishment projects as well as delivering energy-saving LED and photovoltaics programmes on buildings across the region.
So far, the team has secured projects including Durham University, for which it has secured one of the government’s Salix decarbonisation grants, an initiative led by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
This is in addition to the rollout of and LED and PV installation programme across 50 health centres for Assura.
Identity Consult had earlier been appointed by Star Academies to support the procurement of a PV framework and subsequent programme of PV installations across several academies, including Eden Girls and Eden Boys Leadership Academies in Manchester.
The firm’s senior director Matty Pendergast said: “We’re incredibly proud of our new division which underscores our commitment to achieving Net Zero.
“We strive to navigate our clients through each project with seamless precision, helping reduce their carbon footprint within budget constraints. Our commitment extends to the constant exploration and incorporation of innovative materials, products, and technologies aimed at minimising energy consumption.”
In 2023, Identity Consult reported a 35% increase in headcount which now stands at 75 across its offices.
“We look forward to harnessing the expertise of bright minds who will actively engage in projects that contribute to our clients’ endeavours in delivering their net zero commitments. The future holds great promise, and we are excited about the prospects it brings,” concluded Pendergast.
There is no climate crisis and any money spent is a very poor use of capital

@Stuart Wood it’s not April Fool’s Day just yet, bit premature

Please can the comment by “Stuart Wood” be removed as it clearly is spreading disinformation. Perhaps created by a bot or ill-actor. This is not an opinion as there is now overwhelming peer-reviewed evidence for human-induced climate change.
By Fact checker
Stuart…small minded. Even if you think it’s a conspiracy, are lower energy costs and cleaner air a ‘very poor use of capital’?
By Anonymous
I strongly disagree with Stuart’s views on climate change but the abuse and calls for his posting to be removed are totally uncalled for.
By Rye
Climate change is real, it’s been around for millions of years, the conspiracy theory is in that we as humans can do something about it, which obviously we can’t. There is no evidence to suggest humans caused climate change.
By Fact
@FactChecker – there may be climate change – but “crisis”? And you have your opinion. Others may have a different opinion.

A few ‘triggered’ commentators here. It’s always the same when the dreaded climate word is mentioned. So much heat but very little light…it must be the climate.
