Jones Hargreaves appoints senior associate partner

Alan Wales has joined the commercial building consultancy from his previous position as associate director at Hollis.

Wales’s new role as a senior associate partner at Jones Hargreaves will see him lead the company’s building surveying, project management, and sustainability consultancy within its Manchester office.

Based at Bonded Warehouse on Lower Byrom Street, Wales brings a particular focus on contract administration, project management, technical due diligence, dilapidations, tenant alterations, and project monitoring to the position.

Wales previously worked as a chartered building surveyor at CBRE, where he worked for more than four years before moving to Colliers in 2019. There, he held the position of senior building surveyor and moved up to associate director in April 2022.

Wales said: “I’m very pleased to join a fast-growing, agile, and experienced business at a time when there is a real uptick in commercial property projects across the North West and beyond.

“I’m looking forward to working with a variety of new and existing clients to continually deliver high-quality projects with sustainability built into everything we do.”

Nick Twigg, partner at Jones Hargreaves, added: “[Wales’s] knowledge and experience of the North West commercial property market will be invaluable to clients across the region.

“The market continues to be buoyant and we’ve had a strong start to the year, working on a variety of high spec logistics and office instructions.

Jones Hargreaves is active throughout the North West, having recently completed the 22,000 sq ft Gilbanks Manchester office fit-out, as well as the £1m refurbishment of 42 Fountain Street.

The firm has five offices across England, based also in Leeds, Bristol, Cardiff, and London. Clients include Columbia Threadneedle, London and Scottish Property, LXi REIT, Abrdn, Duchy of Lancaster, and Mileway.
