Knowsley gives go-ahead 88 affordable homes
Partner Construction’s plans for Prescot would see an area of just below nine acres off Carr Lane developed into a new neighbourhood.
The application met with approval from Knowsley Council’s planning committee earlier this month, with councillors sending it to the planning department to finalise conditions.
Of the 88 homes, 71 will be affordable rent and 17 will be for social rent.
The housing mix includes four one-bedroom apartments, 14 two-bed houses, 67 three-bed houses and three four-bed homes.
Each house will stand at two-storeys and properties will be either detached, semi-detached, or mews.
Car parking will be provided with 180 spaces.
Baldwin Design Consultancy is the project’s principal designer.
Lambert Smith Hampton is the planning consultant.
A spokesperson for LSH said: “This positive outcome is testament to the collaborative approach between the applicant and the planning officers put into the project over the last 12 months to ensure that we can achieve a high-quality and sustainable affordable housing scheme.
“We are delighted with the council’s decision which will see the redevelopment of a brownfield site to enable a key sustainable urban extension being delivered in Knowsley, providing much-needed affordable homes within Prescot and the borough”.
The project team also includes East Midlands Landscaping, Bowland Ecology, Hepworth Acoustics, C BO Transport, REFA Consulting Engineers.

Perhaps they could build a couple of schools, juniors/seniors, and GP surgeries in part of the land to accommodate all the new people coming into the area.
