Knowsley to dispose of museum and library sites
Sutton Kersh has been instructed to market both the Grade 2-listed Georgian town house that has been home to Prescot Museum for the past three decades and the current site of Prescot Library.
The two sites are being marketed for £250,000 on an unconditional basis.
The museum is a three-storey house on the corner of Church Road and High Street which was once the site of the local cockerel fighting pit, and in 1982 became home to Prescot's museum.
Prescot Library premises at 1 High Street are purpose-built and comprise single storey accommodation with a building area of approximately 381 sq m and a total site area of approximately 0.4 acres.
Knowsley Council is relocating the museum and library into a refurbished building in the retail core heart of the town centre. The new £1.2m development opens its doors to the public in Prescot at the end of April.
