Knowsley waves through sheds totalling 495,700 sq ft

The reserved matters application from Tritax Symmetry Merseyside confirming layouts for the construction of two storage and distribution sheds has been approved as per the officer’s recommendation.

Knowsley Council confirmed the decision with a unanimous vote.

Unit 03 will provide 284,700 sq ft of floorspace, while Unit 04 will offer 211,000 sq ft. In total the development will unlock 495,700 sq ft of industrial space. Office space will also be provided on the shed’s first floors.

The sheds have been designed by UMC Architects, Gerald Eve was the planning consultant for the application.

They will be built on the former site of Cronon Colliery off Cronton Road in Knowsley, which falls within the wider masterplan boundary for the Halsnead South employment allocation, comprising a 124-acre area.

Plans include landscaping, security facilities, and HGV parking for 71 trucks.

The project’s team includes SLR, Enzygo Environmental Consultants, Tyler Grange, and Tier Consult.
