Liverpool hotel opportunity released to market
A Grade II listed building in the heart of Liverpool's Cavern Quarter, with planning permission to be turned into a boutique hotel, has gone on sale with a guide price of £2.45m. Union House, on Victoria Street, which is being sold freehold by developer Property Regeneration, is being marketed as a major development opportunity by property consultant Knight Frank.
Permission has already been granted for 32 en-suite rooms, and a self-contained restaurant to the mezzanine, ground and lower floors.
The 17,198 sq ft building, previously known as Palace Chambers, has housed merchants' offices, and a restaurant since its construction in 1882.
Graham Bowling, associate at Knight Frank's Liverpool office, said: "The location, its architectural importance, attractive façade and internal features make the property ideal for its new role.
"As well as the Cavern Quarter the building is just a short distance from the £900m Paradise Street regeneration area and is also well located for the central business district."
