McDonald’s lodges plans for Clayton-le-Woods outlet
Located on the site of the vacant Beaumont pub, the drive-thru restaurant would be “ideally located”, according to the fast-food giant.
The 4,000 sq ft McDonald’s restaurant would be built on the site of the pub off Woodale Road.
McDonald’s held a public consultation on its plans earlier this year, saying the site was in “an ideal location for a new drive-thru restaurant” due to its proximity to an existing commercial area. An Asda superstore and a Starbucks are located nearby.
The Beaumont, which was owned and operated by Admiral Taverns closed last year and was put up for sale with a guide price of £1.25m last year.
Admiral had acquired the pub alongside 137 pubs others from Marston’s for £45m in 2019. £44.9m
