MCI, Together plot 144 homes in Nelson
The subsidiary of Keepmoat Homes has partnered with the social housing provider to bring forward a £13m affordable housing scheme off Priory Chase in the Lancashire town.
MCI Developments bought the site in Nelson, Lancashire, from private owners for an undisclosed sum and plans to redevelop it into a 114-unit development comprising of a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, two-bed bungalows and two-, three-, and four-bed houses.
All the properties will be available for affordable rent and managed by Together Housing, under the joint venture plans.
The development will be the first time MCI and Together have worked in partnership to deliver affordable housing.
MCI already has planning consent for the scheme, and construction is due to commence in February. The project is expected to take around three years to complete.

Russell Gallagher, development project manager at Together Housing, added: “This residential scheme will provide excellent new homes and help to meet demand for quality, affordable housing in the North West.”
Last week, MCI progressed plans to build 73 affordable homes on Blackpool Road, Preston by submitting an application to the local council. The site was once occupied by car showrooms and a garage.
