MOJO readies for Liverpool ONE expansion

The late-night bar will close its doors on Back Berry Street next month before making its way to a larger 3,500 sq ft venue off Hanover Street.

After 15 years at its current location, MOJO Liverpool is set to expand with a new bar after taking up the vacant unit at 51 Hanover Street in Liverpool ONE.

The Liverpool ONE unit was most recently occupied by Red’s True Barbeque, which closed in 2019.

Voodoo Doll is the company behind the MOJO brand, which is famous for its rock and roll soundtrack.

Moving from a one-storey to a two-storey venue, MOJO’s Hanover Street bar will offer visitors the opportunity to hire out the top floor to offer a private bar space for events and parties.

Opening hours will also be extended. The bar will be open from 12pm until 3am every day, as opposed to opening at 5pm from Wednesday to Sunday.

Martin Greenhow, managing director at MOJO, said: “Our team has carefully crafted a venue right in the heart of the city centre that will continue MOJO’s legacy of music for the people, food for the soul, and good times forever.

“We can’t wait to welcome long-time regulars and new guests to the new venue and the new era of MOJO Liverpool.”

Metis Real Estate was the agent acting on behalf of Grosvenor, which owns Liverpool ONE, on the deal.

Voodoo Doll operates two bars in the North West under the MOJO brand, with the region’s other venue located in Manchester.
