New business centre opens in Hyndburn

The Town Hall in Great Harwood in Hyndburn has been officially opened as a new business and enterprise centre.

The re-opening follows a £500,000 restoration overseen by owners Globe Enterprises with LEGI funding provided by Regenerate Pennine Lancashire.

The Victorian building, known as The Chambers, was opened by Cllr Miles Parkinson, the new leader of Hyndburn Council, who is also a member of the Globe Enterprise board, which is a joint partnership between Barnfield Construction, Hyndburn Council and local businessman Stuart Nevison.

Hyndburn Enterprise Trust will negotiate the lettings and have a base onsite in order to manage the building. The Chambers offers all inclusive deals starting from £39 a week which includes lighting, heating and rates.

Packages including business advice, secretarial services and book-keeping to help new businesses flourish are also available.

Dennis Mendoros, chairman of Regenerate Pennine Lancashire, said: "The Chambers will provide perfect premises for 15 new businesses and their staff. The business advice on offer will provide them with the initial support they need to grow and be successful, revitalising the centre and increasing local employment opportunities in Great Harwood."

Globe Enterprises was formed over 15 years ago to assist in the regeneration of the Hyndburn area.
