Aew makes senior promotions
Danielle Purves and Alex Southall have been appointed directors at the Manchester-based architecture firm.
Purves joined the company in 2005 as a junior interior designer and has worked on projects for McDonald’s Restaurants and Domino’s Pizza. In her new role, she will lead Aew Architects’ interior design team.
Southall also joined Aew in 2005. He rose in the ranks from a Part 1 to assistant director in 2017. As a director, he will co-lead the firm’s industrial projects, alongside fellow director Alan Lamb. Southall will also lead on the firm’s Ronald McDonald House Charities UK work.
Aew managing director Andy Rainford praised both Purves and Southall.
“It’s fantastic to recognise the significant contribution of two longstanding members of the team with their promotion to directors, which really reflects our strong culture of development and progression from within,” he said. “Both Alex and Danielle have excelled in client service and project delivery over many years and will add strength and diversity to the board.”
The promotions of Purves and Southall are not the only new appointment news at Aew. The practice has also hired Peter Bartley as sustainability manager, Ben Robinson and Dave Somers have been promoted to associate directors. Hannah Cook and Ben Smith were made associates, while Dan Sutton became an accredited Passivehaus designer.
Current Aew projects include the Firethorn’s 760,000 sq ft Link Logistics Park in Ellesmere Port, the £54m Glass Futures research facility in St Helens, and Maple Grove Developments’ £23m Pioneer Place in Burnley.
