Brewdog’s Manchester hotel venture approved
The craft beer company is to open an 18-bedroom hotel within Bruntwood Works’ Bloc office development on Fountain Street this summer.
Doghouse Hotel will be Brewdog’s fourth overall, and first in England. It currently operates two hotels in Columbus, Ohio and a third in Aberdeen.
The proposals will see the ground floor of the Fountain Street building converted into a 3,700 sq ft bar, while the upper floors are to be transformed from office accommodation into hotel rooms.
A roof terrace is also proposed under plans approved by Manchester City Council.
The architect for the project is Surface and Firstplan is the planning consultant.

The wider redevelopment of the adjoining 15-storey 
Lowry House , rebranded as Bloc, forms part of Bruntwood Works’ £50m Pioneer programme, a scheme aimed at upgrading the firm’s existing office stock.

As well as the Brewdog hotel, plans for the 108,000 sq ft building will see it redeveloped into a “productivity-boosting urban oasis”, according to Bruntwood Works, the offices arm of developer Bruntwood.
Bloc is Bruntwood Works’ third Pioneer building following the recent redevelopment of Blackfriars House and 111 Piccadilly, also in Manchester.
OMG this looks well good.
They need more roof terraces throughout the city.
