CBRE’s Hana sets sights on Windmill Green
CBRE’s flexible workspace arm Hana is in talks to open its first UK branch outside London, pinpointing three floors at Windmill Green for a potential letting.
It is understood that a leasing deal will be signed in January 2020, and that Hana is also looking at other undisclosed sites in Manchester.
Hana, a subsidiary of CBRE, has three workspace locations in London, at 245 Hammersmith, 70 St Mary Axe, and St Martins Court.
Fore Partnership’s 78,000 sq ft Windmill Green is located in Manchester city centre, on the corner of Mount Street opposite The Midland Hotel.
The building has floor plates totalling 12,750 sq ft from the second to fifth floors, together with 9,750 sq ft on the sixth floor, and roof terraces and a bar on the seventh. It was designed by TP Bennett, with interior design by Sheila Bird Group and construction by Kier.
The sixth floor was leased to Windmill Green’s first occupier, Interact Software, in September, when the technology company agreed to take almost 13,000 sq ft.
Co-working firm Our.Space had previously agreed to take half of the ground floor and the entire first floor in a letting totalling 13,600 sq ft, which would have been the brand’s Manchester debut. But the deal fell through at the start of the year.
Hana declined to comment.
