Councils combine on £74m prefab framework
A framework to provide prefabricated buildings for a number of North West local authorities and public bodies, led by Stockport Council, has been expanded to the value of £74m, up from its original stated value of £24m.
Works to be carried out include, but are not limited to, the supply, delivery and installation of both new units and refurbished units. Associated works could include groundworks, drainage, M&E and external works. The maximum value of individual projects in the framework will be £2m.
The other local authorities involved in the process are Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan, along with Transport for Greater Manchester and Stockport Borough Housing.
The framework will be open to other public sector bodies within Greater Manchester and associate councils – Cheshire East, Warrington, Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen. This could include educational establishments and NHS bodies, along with central government departments.
The framework is due to run from April 2017 for two years.
