German plastics firm bags 70,000 sq ft in Wrexham 

AST Plastic Containers has bought Unit 1 Abbey Road at Wrexham Industrial Estate from Lincat Group for £2.5m.

The 70,283 sq ft warehouse unit, previously occupied by Lincat’s catering equipment arm IMC, sits on a 5.8-acre site within the North Wales industrial estate. 

The unit is AST Plastic Containers’ second facility within Wrexham Industrial Estate, having opened its debut site just over a mile away on Clywedog Road East in 2012. 

In addition, the manufacturing firm has factories in Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and Poland. 

JLL acted for AST Plastic Containers and Lincat Group, was represented by MBRE. 

Richard Johnson, director of industrial and logistics at JLL, said: “Existing warehouses available to buy on Wrexham Industrial Estate are difficult to find and therefore we were delighted to have secured this property on behalf of AST Containers to satisfy their urgent expansion requirement.”
